Bob Switek
President

Bob, Founder and President of CVM, graduated from Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering in 1972. He held several engineering positions with Clorox, Thiokol, Union Carbide, and Bechtel before beginning his consulting practice in the late 1970's. In 1991, he founded CVM and continues to lead and manage the company in addition to designing and building custom machines.

Gary Aslin
Engineering Manager

Gary graduated from UC Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering in 1996. He has been with CVM since its inception in 1992 after a successful career in management. Gary leads the engineering, electrical and assembly crews and runs most of the larger projects. In addition to his leadership role, Gary can often be found working on design or programming.

Doug Fahrney
Shop Manager

Doug has 39 years of experience in the shop environment. He has considerable experience in manual and CNC machining and programming. He has spent the last 10 years managing the Clorox R&D shop, responsible for difficult, unique experimental parts as well as fabrication of parts used in production machines. His duties at CVM include responsibility for the day to day management of the machine shop, CNC programming, machining, scheduling, planning and estimating.

Duane Smith
Technical Assistant

After serving in the US Army in Desert Storm, Duane began his machinery career and joined CVM in 1996. He is a jack-of-all-trades, splitting his time between machining, assembly and wiring in the shop and installation and service in the field.

Paul Widergren
Senior Fabricator

Paul is the fabrication shop lead-man: Another multi-talented craftsman with excellent skills in welding, sheet metal and fabrication. He is also skilled in fabrication design; competent in both AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Paul has been with CVM since 1995.

Marty Turkington
Fabricator/Machinist

Marty has been a metal worker since 1972. He is a fine craftsman with a wide range of skills, including journeyman machinist, welder, fabricator, and woodworker. Marty has been with CVM since 1996.

Toni Bloom
Administrative Assistant

Toni joined CVM in October, 2000 as administrative assistant. She handles all accounting responsibilities, the phones and other office organizational tasks.
James Pyne
Mechanical Engineer

James is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has been with CVM since 2005. In addition to his degree in Mechanical Engineering, James has a strong background in controls and handles most of CVM's programming, including PC, PLC, HMI, robotics and motor drives.
Bill Bennett
Senior Machinist

Bill joined the CVM team in 2007 as one of our highly skilled machinists, but Bill's diverse talents also find him working in fabrication, CNC programming and mechancial design. Bill started his career in metal fabrication over 35 years ago and has been machining since 1980. He has worked on a wide variety of projects including motorcycle racing frames, food-grade machinery and even rocket fuel handling equipment for NASA.
